Jonas Taedcke

This is me

Hello, my name is Jonas Taedcke, I have been working as a (web) developer in Europe for nine years and create digital things out of passion.
I have switched from my morning cup of milk to tea, listen to music of various genres every day, enjoy watching films with my husband and am constantly expanding our .

I consider it important to invest my time sustainably, for future generations, in a meaningful way and in fair cooperation.

Skills

In software development, the popular frameworks are constantly changing. It is therefore important not only to be able to use the tools, but also to have internalised the principles behind them: Maintainability, usability and performance.

Maintainable code allows logic to be checked and adapted efficiently, while usability focuses on the needs of the user. Good performance ensures fast and reliable applications, which leads to higher user satisfaction. Modularity facilitates reusability, while agile methods promote flexibility and continuous improvement. Comprehensive quality assurance helps to ensure high standards and detect errors at an early stage.

Interests

In the background, an old, ochre-coloured corner house on an empty, cobbled street. The neighbouring houses are painted red and some have long chimneys. The sky is light blue with a few clouds. In the foreground, a man with a bright red backpack is taking a photo of the corner house.
A person is standing on the beach near the water. Only the lower half of the person's body is visible. He is wearing short dark trousers, a light-coloured T-shirt and no shoes. The sand is dark and the water is slightly foamy.

My family roots are in Cologne and carnival is simply part of the fifth season. Whether it's at an event or during a parade, I love the laid-back attitude of the people of Cologne, their cheerfulness and the way they laugh at themselves.

On holiday, I love going to the beach, hiking, visiting new countries and discovering European cities, preferably by train!

Since Covid, I've been building my own digital infrastructure. Blinds, heating and lights are automated. I host websites myself and like to try out different services. I also run my own mail server and a Mastodon instance.

A light-coloured egg lies in a blue egg cup on a breakfast table. A face with large eyes and a nose has been drawn on the egg with a dark, thin pencil. In the background are blue cups, cutlery for two people and bread rolls.
A male person is walking along an underground station. The person is dressed as a clown in a carnival costume with colourful trousers, a colourful hat and a red jumper. In the background, people in fancy dress are sitting on a bench.
